Alive and kicking after being rescued from the back corner of the cellar. Black plum and raspberry fruit with smoked meat, baked earth and accents of wild herbs. Palate has a touch of raspberry jam with herbal notes and more roasted and smoked meats. Just enough tannin to feel the wine focused. Made with 100% Pinot Noir from 10 different "crus " (or villages), from the North & South areas of the Montagne de Reims, as well as the famous Cote de Bouzy. Deep salmon pink with full aromas of berry fruit and citrus mineral notes wrapped in a delicate fine mousse. Clean, crisp and flavorful - a bit riper than Chablis but very much a cool climate Wine; this has green apple, green pear, acacia, flint and wet stone, and a bright bit of herbal greenery in the background. There is more body here than in Chablis with a hint of creaminess on the palate. Really enjoyable, a food-lover’s wine.
