Subtle notes of mocha waft atop a spongy cloud-like cappuccino-colored head replete with bubbles of varying size and a sycamore silhouetted lacing. Dark chocolate malt balls plus cocoa pods inform olfactorily. Bitter chocolate, black mocha, chocolate cereal, vanilla bean, burnt cinnamon stick, burnt toast urge you back to the sweeter chocolate notes as the bitterness escalates to peppercorn-esque with chicory. Not for everyone, but coffee heads will appreciate the pine tar walk off homer! #stone #stonebrewery #stout #americano #imperialstout #beer #beer — 9 years ago
It's back!!! Re-review of this classic Black IPA, now in 12oz bottles!!! This one of the best in style because it is first and true a IPA, not a just a hopped up stout or Porter, which a lot of black IPA's are, this is all about the hops, with that creamy roasted malt, coffee and chocolate, but again the hops are the show, excellent in the style, but beware, this is a big monster of a beer, almost 9% ABV, that is why am glad it is now in 12oz bottles, limit time only, well I guess till the next time it comes out, so to summarize, IPA, first, stout second, Period!!! — 10 years ago
If is June, it must be time for Stone's Ruination Anniversary Triple IPA, The 2015 release of Ruinten , bottle on 6/12/15 the first release back on 6/12 to celebrate the tenth Anniversary of Ruination, so this is the 4th time this has been made, only once a year, for a very limit release and time, when it's gone, it's gone. : (. This is like many, my all time favorite Stone beer, it is insane!!! More hops added to the beginning and end of the brewing process than any beer Stone makes, more tropical than Ruination, much more than the original Ruination, double dry hopped too, dank, big citrus notes with mango, pineapple notes as well, malt backbone to help balance out the outrageous about of hops, AVB at 10.8% Wonderful balance helps mask the high AVB, smooth for such a big beer, mouth feel is medium, not to sticky for a TIPA, dangerously drinkable for a beer so big, Outstanding overall, get it now, but save some more for me, the 4 bottles I have will not last long. — 11 years ago
Burnside Brewing Sweet Heat, from Portland, Or. A wheat beer w/ 200lbs apricots, and dry hopped w/ Jamaican Scotch Bonnet peppers. Perfect balance of heat, sweet, and Weiss characteristics with a gentle spice lingering in the back of the mouth. Very good! — 13 years ago
Love the packaging and it was actually quite nice. Smells rich, creamy, malty, and nutty. So is the palate - thick bittersweet chocolate drink. Finishes creamy and syrupy. Admittedly not as peanut buttery as expected, but it's a tasty decadent beer. — 6 years ago
Very surprised with this beer and very happy about it. It's got a nice light taste, one I could definitely go back to. — 9 years ago
10th Anniversary IPA Re-release for the 20th Anniversary Encore Series, big big west coast hops, pine, citrus, peach, orange peel, sweet malt, 10% AVB, Triple IPA, not technically a style, especially back then, adds the new hops now common, Summit and chinook hops, Outstanding back then, and still very impressive, the closest beer to compare with this is Avery's Maharaja, which is still Outstanding as well — 10 years ago

After some years enjoying beer, it is still one of all time favorite Red IPA's big hops, Caramel malt, citrus and pine, excellent beer, years ago when this style came out, I really did like anything called "Red Ale" this is the one that changed it all for me, this is a perfect example of what a red ale should taste like, or really a double red IPA, but that is what I love about it, mixes and balances the two style together and creates a new and now popular style, Green Flash was the first and still the best at this, one of the best, there a now a few others that are just as good and better, but not by much, I give extra points because Green Flash made this style first and great from the start, back in 2004 or 2005, I think it was, Great Great beer — 12 years ago
Yum! My first Alabama beer — 13 years ago
As expected, a reddish hue to the amber, giving this an added warmth visually. Nice diversity of turtle back bubble clusters falling through the negative space of fine bubbled vines forming to leave a cantilevered lacing. The rye gives an earthy note to fig and malty caramel and mangrove honey, while blood orange and sweet lemon rise like a mirage. Great beer entry with a polished iron aspect cutting into the cooked ginger, wild rice and dark tea tastes and textures. A soft recollection of spun sugar heating. Soft and sweet, while bitter and deep. Session-able, with a pause for contemplative memory. .

This is Tioga-Sequoia Brewery's Joaquin Murrieta Chili Beer. Where do I start? The terroir? (Fresno, where so many good things come from, grows the chiles, that make this beer a spicy, hot and cold phenomenon) The smog? The heat? The complicated geo-political space? The morlock valley we all are happy to disparage with one side of our mouth while stuffing it's stone fruits in the other? Sharp, hot chile flavor in the front, round, smokey, still hot chile flavor in the back. Lingers a long time on the exhale. A yeasty, wheaty nose doesn't give any of it's secrets away. I haven't seen this gracing the supermarket aisles any where else but Fresno, so if you find yourself there, grab some. 2017 — 9 years ago
The pepper adds a wonderful layer of complexity, it's a slow heat the builds in the back of the palate — 10 years ago
5th Anniversary, re-release in a 4-pack box under $20!!! Had this back in the day, loved it then, still love it, this is close to original " Ruination" big piney hops, grapefruit, caramel malt, bitter as it was meant to be, a true west coast classic beer, Stone has come away from this style in the last few years, but it good to see them put this out, because as they say, most people think or say they had this beer, but really they did not, it was a very limited release, I do remember that, it was only available in very few states, and really only widely available in California — 10 years ago
Very orange scented with grapefruit after, baking dough and marmalade. Lemon and walnut, grapefruit, pomeloand back to ruby grapefruit. Mineral-rich. — 11 years ago
Cocoa chili, a nice silky texture, the heat is there is lingers on the tip of the tongue but the chocolate silk keeps you coming back again and again — 12 years ago

Samakkee Lager. This beer is described as a crisp, sessionable lager, and its name, "Samakkee", embodies the Thai value of "harmony".
Thai lager. Liking the IPA a lot better. This is a Singha (also had with it) without the umph. Btw I also prefer Singha in a bottle versus can. May be bs but I think there’s a difference. Need to blind test it but cold bottle in hand brings back too many memories. Listening to SZN4 (they picked the wrong song) — a year ago
