I think I bought about a half dozen of these with the intent they would all last until at least 10 years post vintage. Man was I wrong! This is a really good value Merlot. It is not the best merlot are you will ever experience, but it has A soft front, brambley middle, good acidity, and goes with a variety of foods. Still finishes with a little bit of astringency so I think this one will probably continue evolving over the next five to seven years. Very dark Ruby - almost black - opaque at 19 years. Herbal and minty with cassis and tobacco leaf. On the palate still tasting young. An exceptional vintage for Moss Wood. I bought a dozen on release and have 5 left which I will drink over the next 10+ years. A brilliant cross between the black fruits of SA Cabernet and the Herbaceousness of Margaret River Cabernet. The Signature is a Cabernet Shiraz blend and is Yalumbas best red released each year. There are several previous notes from myself here on Delectable. Plummy, cedar black currant and cigar box - a trace of oak on nose and on the full bodied palate. Going strong at 15 years of age. I have 7 left from an original dozen and would like to have one per year until supplies are exhausted. I can’t see it changing much in the next few years. Not sure why more countries do not blend Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz - they are made for each other. — 3 years ago

See previous notes on Delectable in 2023. The Rayner vineyard in McLaren Vale is regarded as one of the best vineyards for Grenache in Australia. Raspberry aromatics comes through on the palate, typical of Australian Grenache….also cherry Barb thought. With air the palate intensity grew. Jujubey confectionery notes. Sourced from a tiny 0.7 hectare block of 48 year old Grenache vines. Only 210 dozen made. Great value at only $34 AUD for such a small production. My last bottle. — 5 months ago

See many previous notes on Delectable, as recently as 22 weeks ago. Getting to the end of a dozen originally bought. I might have one left. This is the 2nd best Cabernet blend from VF. Originally the premium Cuvée was Heytesbury, now called Tom Cullity. This is probably the best rated “2nd Cuvée” in Margaret River. M+ intensity, touch of menthol, all the classic Cabernet descriptors including capsicum (bell pepper). Very enjoyable from a good vintage. — 2 years ago
