Bennett Valley Syrah 2007

Simple filet, fully loaded baker, fresh grilled beets and carrots….ancient Carlisle Syrah… near autumnal perfection. Still enough ripe jammy dark fruit goodness… silky smooth… almost 20 years old and still bringing smiles. Thanks Mike Officer. — 3 days ago

Dry Stack Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Don’t often drink Sauvignon blanc, especially not from California, but this is actually quite nice. Just a kiss of oak is very nicely balanced. Holds up well on days 2 and 3 too. — 4 months ago

Grey Stack Cellars

Four Brothers Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Dark cherry and spice nose. More dark cherry on the palate with cola, plum, cooked strawberry, cinnamon, clove, oak, with a hint of cocoa. Medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannins, and high alcohol. — 3 years ago

Bevan Cellars

Dry Stack Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2024

2024 vintage. Lighter but with concentration for days. A different style with a suggestion of limoncello. Generally dislike Sauvie B but this came to play and was the standout of this year’s Bevan Cellars releases I tasted (3 whites/7 reds). 08.22.25 — 2 months ago

Jackson Park Vineyard Merlot 2015

Polished domestic Merlot. Very savory on the nose. Almost classic Bordeaux in style , green olive and olive tapenade. Oregano and thyme with just a hint of oak hut not overly in your face. Beautiful inky hue. Lots of great tannin and acidity on the backbone of this wine. Plenty of room to keep aging. Blackberries and blueberries upfront. Fantastic finish that lingers without feeling big heat. Very well balanced at 14.5% — 2 years ago

Judge Family Vineyard Syrah 2015

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2015 Judge Family Vineyard Syrah pours a deep, inky, ruby/purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with pungent notes of bacon fat, dark brambles, toasted blueberry crisp, lavender, dried green herbs and fine baking spice. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is aging slowly and gracefully. This remains my favorite Syrah made in the United States. Drink now through 2045. — 3 months ago

Judge Family Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Rich, weighty, complex wine is viscous, almost oily but manages to bring enough tropical fruit, grass, and pesto to float this monstrous boat to an itchy finish. New world chest-pump Sauvignon Blanc…but I LIKE it! — 3 years ago
