Does age matter, Sander?

Normally I'm not really a fan of St. Bernardus 12: to heavy and alcoholic. After a few years it loses it's sharp edges and gains more complexity, more chocolatey.

Soberanes Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

Pale color. Nose is vanilla, coconut, lemon peel, and flint. Lemon, oak, quince, and minerals with some buttery notes. High acid, high alcohol, medium plus body, and long finish. I’d prefer a bit less oak, but otherwise well balanced. — 7 months ago

Just decadent, rich intense, chocolate malt, nutty caramel, dulce de leche, s’mores, etc. have to keep this away from kids. Hi-octane but ALC doesn’t show - extremely well done w/certain subtle acidic/yeasty tang which offsets all sweet notes... we have glasses for this specific beer which enhances the experience. — 4 years ago
