Medium Ruby color, purple hues, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral, herb and complex spice, aged 16 months in 43% new French oak. On the palate flavors of black cherry, plum and strawberry with pepper, tea, herbs, licorice and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, long finish, ending with spice, fruit, tobacco and floral tones. Very Nice! — 8 months ago
Simply one of the best domestic Syrahs, from the storied Bien Nacido vineyard. — a year ago

Nose: mild oak. Pineapple flower.
Plate elegant pineapple. Tasty. — 7 months ago
Nice to taste this Santa Maria Valley bottling alongside the Sta. Rita Hills one. Riper, darker fruits profile but there is still freshness here. Oak is more prominent. Earthier as well with light mushroom and tea leaf notes. Plush palate.
This is a more complex and deeper wine. But I prefer the Sanford bottling slightly. — 2 years ago
