Valdisanti Tenuta S. Giovanni Toscana Red Blend 2020

2020 vintage. Espresso crema galore. Front and middle 2/3rd's nice...back end/finish/last third just meh. Medium heavy body. 4.29.26. — 24 days ago

Rosemary's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Smells like an Oregon pinot! Had a lot of minerality, almost a little graphite-y, with a slight tartness. Great! — 2 months ago

'S' Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Brut Chardonnay 1999

This is gorgeous. Lemon and stone. A touch of orchard fruit and a bit of salinity. Very balanced with acidity rounded into the palate. Great — a month ago

Vincent Arroyo Winery

Greenwood Ranch Petite Sirah 2017

Ming L
9.3

The winery is known for its Petite Sirah, and this bottling from the home estate in Calistoga shows why.

Aromas of blueberry, plum, violet, dark chocolate, black pepper and subtle fresh herbs. Rich and powerful palate, yet surprisingly lifted, with fresh acidity and firm but polished tannins. Finish is long, savory and gently candied.

Will benefit from further bottle aging and drink beautifully for the next 8-10 years.

Piedrasassi

Rim Rock Vineyard Arroyo Grande Valley Syrah 2021

It leads with black olives, then a touch of brett but pleasant, purple flowers, and a good amount of stony minerality. Very quintessential Syrah. A little bit of bacon fat and smoke. On the palate the body is light. Tannins are moderate and fine and it brightens up the profile with good acidity even though the finish is not very long. It's very clear what they're trying to do and they're achieving it here. — 2 months ago
