Nose has yellow apple peel, pear slice, straw and beach sand.
Palate has tangerine zest, ripe pear, under-ripe yellow peach, cold clementine orange with medium acidity and slightly dry finish.
A nice bottle; not sure if this wants more time, or a couple years past prime...
On the sold out (18K+ patrons) Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest Conductor Ken-David Masur is leading a 90th birthday celebration of John Williams. BSO soloists tonight are J. Williams Hudgins (vibraphone) & Jessica Zhou (harp), joined by Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Branford Marsalis (saxophone), Eric Revis (bass) and James Taylor (vocals/guitar). A truly wonderful night lay ahead, and my money is certainly on hearing at least one or two Star Wars movements this evening... — 2 years ago
Notes of lemon cello and honeysuckle, perhaps green apple jelly rancher. The mouth is light and refreshing, with a pleasant tart finish. I almost taste some slight toasted oak on the finish, but it’s 100% stainless steel. Great with food or by itself. For the price, it’s a solid Macon-Charnay. — 6 years ago

Lavendette; Rosé
Provence; Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France

Wow, this continues to be one of my favorite Provence rosés, ripe strawberry, cold peach, watermelon rind, damp limestone, white pepper; with +3Y of age we're at peak enjoyment.
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading Julia ADOLPHE (Makeshift Castle), STRAUSS songs with orchestra (Muttertändelei, Opus 43, No. 2 / Wiegenlied, Opus 41, No. 1 / Waldseligkeit, Opus 49. No. 1 / Ruhe, meine Seele, Opus 27, No. 1 / Zueignung, Opus 10, No. 1 / Morgen, Opus 27, No. 4) all voiced by our favorite soprano Renée Fleming, and closing with STRAVINSKY (Petrushka, 1947 version).
*Unfortunately, cellist Yo-Yo Ma has had to withdraw from today's planned performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 due to testing positive for COVID-19. — a year ago
Just the best Moscato d'Asti money can buy, you'll never have more enjoyment packed into another bottle!
Our final bottle of the 2017 vintage.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, without orchestra or conductor 😉. Three humble souls playing an all BEETHOVEN program (Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor (Opus 1, No. 3) and Symphony No. 2 in D (Opus 36, arr. for piano trio by Beethoven)) with a few of the best players of instruments containing strings, Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Leonidas Kavakos (violin) and Emanuel Ax (piano). A true delight for lovers of Classical music this evening! — 3 years ago
Full but npt aggressive. Fruity — 5 years ago
Too intense on day one, really nice on day two. Pairs perfectly with a garbage salad. Mackenzie said it was a fiddle yesterday and a cello today. — 5 years ago
Medium garnet; medium intensity aromas of dried black and red fruit, dried black plum, red plum, dried cherry, dried herbs, dried potpourri, sweet baking spices; dry, medium acid, medium tannins (very smooth), medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavors consistent with aromas; delicious complex flavors and aromas of dried fruit and herbs, very well balanced and integrated, outstanding, quite a surprise — 5 years ago
