Medium gold colour . Quite a lot of roasted nuts , lemon peel . On the palate still lovely freshness , with a touch of vanilla , baked brown bread , brioche, meaty almost porcini richness . Good length, quite rounded on the palate but very good balance . Drink now and over the next 5-8 years , this is at a lovely stage — 3 months ago

Very smooth and well rounded wine, I had it with beef bouringon. Worked very well with this kind of heavy food.

Another beautiful vintage from one of my favorite houses.

Medium gold with very pleasing perlage. Quite youthful with a bursting bouquet of pears, quince, and butter. A touch of apple and brioche.

Plenty of tension and drama here. Reminiscent of so many previous Veuve vintages, stately and refined. More precise and focused than in other years. Giving a definite Pinot profile with a medium body and a robust nature.

Plenty of fruit on the palate with cherries and raspberries initially. The citrus begins to creep in along with roasted nuts and toasted bread bread. Another outstanding champagne from Veuve. — 2 months ago

Lighter on its feet than the 166eme. Fresher & a bit creamier.

Nice but could use some additional cellaring. Less complexity than the 166eme.

Cream right up top. The fruits are more subtle than the 166eme. Lemon, lime, pineapple, tropical melon, kiwi, white peach, touch of grapefruit & green apple. Very soft, chalkiness & limestone marl, perfect sea fossils & saline, just a touch of white spice, brioche, touch of bread dough, spring flowers, some yellow lilies, racey soft, yet crispy acidity, perfect balance, soft tension & structure, balance for days and a nicely knitted & smartly polished finish that lasts 90 seconds.

The 169ème Édition Cuvée is composed around the 2013 vintage and is a blend of 146 wines from 11 different years. The youngest is from the year 2013 and the oldest dates back to 2000. The 169eme spent 7 years in the cellar. Composed of 43% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay & 22% Pinot Meunier. The reserve wines are from the House’s extensive library and made up 40% of the final blend.

Lovely. Spent sometime in neutral oak. Apple cider-green & dominate red, bruised pear, overripe pineapple juice, tropical melons, ginger ale, white cream, some overripe white peach, saline, sea fossils/spray, limestone alluvial minerals, bread dough, yeastiness, moist/wet chalkiness, yellow, white flowers, excellent, round, acidity, well; knitted, structured, nicely tensioned, balanced & evenly polished finished that lasts two-minutes. — 4 months ago
