Loving it! Elegant yet complex — a year ago
2023/3. Wild, woodsy red fruit, flowers and their stems and a touch of spice on the nose. Translucent stony fruit in the mouth - the acidity feels a little low (due to the vintage) but instead of feeling blowsy it comes across as alkaline - like burgundy made with Contrex. — 3 years ago
2006 vintage. The first vintage for Caroline Frey to be in charge. This shows beautifully now for a wine that was totally underrated by Robert Parker on release. While it may not have the depth and power of the greatest vintages of this iconic wine, this 2006 is a terrific wine in it's own right. Complex nose with spices, black fruit, tobacco and cedar. In the mouth it is beautifully balanced with bright acidity embracing layers of black fruit and spices and velvety tannin. Impressive length too. Abv. 14%. — 4 years ago
Château de Chantegrive “Cuvée Caroline” 2022
Graves AOC, Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷
Overview
A prestigious white Bordeaux blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from one of the most respected family-owned estates in Graves. Founded in 1966 by the Lévêque family, this cuvée is named after their daughter Caroline and reflects the estate’s commitment to quality and tradition. Fermentation and aging in French oak barrels enhance both the complexity and elegance of the wine.
Aromas & Flavors
Nose: fresh, vibrant aromas of citrus zest, tropical fruits, and white flowers, lifted by subtle oak-spice and vanilla.
Palate: layered with ripe stone fruits, pineapple, and lemon curd, balanced by minerality and a creamy texture from its barrel aging.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with balanced acidity, offering a creamy richness that is lifted by a long, mineral-driven finish. Harmonious and precise, it embodies the elegance of Graves whites.
Winemaking & Style
Fermented and aged in oak barrels (with bâtonnage on the lees), the style is classic Graves: structured, textural, and vibrant, combining freshness with complexity.
Food Pairing
Perfect with grilled sole, lobster thermidor, roasted chicken, creamy risottos, or aged goat cheese. Its richness also makes it a versatile pairing for seafood in butter sauces or herb-crusted poultry.
Verdict
A beautifully expressive Bordeaux Blanc that combines tradition and precision. Complex yet approachable, it’s an excellent bottle to enjoy now, with the potential to evolve gracefully over the next few years. — a year ago

Definite pineapple and Asian pear on the palette. Heavier than many in this class but a nice acidity to complement food. — 4 years ago
Light, fruity, juicy, nice white wine. — 4 years ago
Medium golden color. Very expressive aromas of rose petals, honeysuckle, melon, orchids and Asian spices. Flavors of apricot, peaches, tropical fruit, honey and ginger. Nice touches of mandarin orange and minerals on the long and elegant finish. Pleasant viscous/oily texture. Subtle acidity but still very well balanced. So complex, concentrated and bold but also very harmonious. — 7 months ago

Fantastic. Still incredibly youthful, 2015 Chaumées is showing fabulously, rich, vibrant and textural with classic morey matchstick-lemon cream aromatics, a layered palate with racy acids and excellent length. Love these wines. — 7 months ago
