Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim.

Gorgeous nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, dried figs, cedar, licorice, vanilla, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, light earth and black pepper.

Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, coffee and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This is a delicious Barolo from the great Cannubi Vineyard. Well balanced with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

This 12 year old is great right out of the bottle. Soft and smooth. Elegant and fruity.

Didn't need too long to open up. It was shining after 45 minutes in the decanter. Loved the nose here. Delicious stuff.

Stellar Barolo. Definitely of the new school, lighter color, lightly structured, but radiant fruit in a refined style. Decanted 2hrs. Perfect pairing for veal/osso buco, maybe less so for a roast. Some debate whether more age would refine the fruit further or cause it to dissipate. No idea but have two more so can experiment! Made me want to get on an overnight to Piedmont tonight. — 2 months ago
