Not really a whisky drinker, but I can appreciate this Scotch. Very woodsy and dry. Cedar with orange bitters, and oaky vanilla bean. Clean fresh finish, with a long lasting Szechuan pepper tingle and wood chips towards the end. 14 yr single malt. — 2 months ago

A classical, and more regional-driven Burgundian 100% Pinot Noir. Enticing sharp red cherry color, red fruity aromas with rounded acidity, so typical from Burgundy’s soil of clay-limestone based. Since it combines grapes sourcing from village to village with different terroirs selected to enhance an elegant expression of Pinot Noir, this one still keeps the Ropiteau’s house style. See 4 previous notes on Delectable for the 2015 Primavera. This is my last bottle. The whole bunch stalky elements have toned down in the last few years. More balanced with the red fruits. Perhaps that was Steve Flamsteed’s plan and it needed to be cellared for at least 9 years.? — 10 months ago

In beautiful shape, better than I remember the last bottle being. Dried red and black fruits, dry dusty tannins, forest floor, dried porcini mushroom and old leather umami nodes, cedar, dried herbs. Did I mention it’s dry? But it’s a beautiful wine, the flavor profile exudes sun baked warmth but the alcohol clocks in at less than 12% so it doesn’t fatigue the palate — 2 years ago

Founded in 1982 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer and sits on a tree covered knoll overlooking the Napa Valley, with caves that extend for over a mile. Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and tropical fruit, sweet oak, spice and floral scents. On the palate flavors of ripe peach, melon and apple, with vanilla spice, creamy texture.
