1999 vintage. Opened with a Durand. Cork in great shape and approx 35% saturated. Not decanted. Tasted after one hour open. Wowza. Most excellent, full nose. Medium body + with great, full color. Sous bois, smoked meats, carmelized cranberry impressions running the savory festival currently in residence. Personally, could only wish for a touch more astringency/tannins but, otherwise, completely phenomenal. At the absolute apex/top of the bell curve now and for the next 5-7 years. Have had some decent Roty efforts over the years but this one takes the cake along with the accompanying plates and silver. Do cork dorks dream of electric red Burgundy? Hafta say "Yes." 2.27.26. — 3 months ago

Banger. 07 Charmes, from 100+ year old vines right across from Chambertin, is a fabulous rendition in this vintage, seductive and complex wafting a dark fruited and gamey bouquet laced with violets and black tea. The palate is superbly concentrated, detailed and impeccably balanced with a finish that keeps on going. A particularly youthful ‘07 Grand Cru red burg. Long life ahead! — 2 months ago

Having this 1996 in 2926 just for the heck of it on Memorial Day with a grilled ribeye and rosemary. Potatoes, it’s still surprisingly alive with deep leather, some hint of Bret, and plums and dark berries. Tastes like one of the first aged Bordeaux I ever had many years ago, not sublime but funkily pleasant — 3 hours ago
