Château De Mole

Lail Vineyards

Mole Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Inky in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose of black fruits with cedar and chocolate notes.

Full-bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, cooked plums, figs, vanilla, licorice, cedar, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light earth and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious 12 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. Elegant and rich. Fruit forward with a soft mouthfeel. complex and interesting.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 7 years.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Another great wine from the hands of Philippe Melka.

Good by itself, and will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in all new French Oak barrels for 20 months.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$200.

Chasselas del Mogor 2023

Light, crisp and clean in its own, some body to it, picked up the spice of a mole mussel bite, with increased salinity and flavor to the finish. — 2 years ago

It is. And, you could.

Vinhos Barbeito

Madeira Dry Tinta Negra Mole

.175 ml bottle. Dry Madeira. Pleasant. A native Maderian told me recently that Barbeito is middling so I’m probably biased. — a year ago

Algarve family estate

Morgado do Quintão Vinho Regional Algarve Tinta Negra Mole 2022

A lighter style red, quite Gamay like with some fresh red & black fruit and a touch of turned earth.
Highly drinkable, with nice freshness and a bit of depth. Nice character, too.
Lovely slightly chilled with grilled shrimp.

Reserve fine Rich 5 Years Old

A rich gold in colour. Not much experience with Madeira. Like a hypothetical cross between a Sherry (oxidative) and Port (rich). Walnutty notes very savoury with dried fruit notes. — 4 years ago

Azienda Agricola il Borghetto

Montigiano Sangiovese 2018

2021/5/5-6 with mole chichilo and chicken, katsuo tataki, etc. I adore this wine; this year’s model is especially effusive and giving. Soaring raspberry, strawberry, cherry and flowers - it really is Burgundian, but with that twist of blood orange that says Chianti. Limpid like cool spring water but with a savory mineral depth. People sometimes talk about dangerously drinkable wines, but this is truly that - so delicious and moreish it’s hard to stop. — 5 years ago
