A blend of mostly Merlot with a little Cabernet Franc, deep ruby red color with a bouquet of dark black fruit, and a slight herb nose, aged for 12 months in oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currant and cherry, with licorice and herbs. Fine grainy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and a touch of earthy mineral notes. — 22 days ago

Medium deep ruby , pink rim , quite intense , with coloured tears noticeable . Quite closed but deep dark fruited , serious but compact nose , with touch of dark chocolate , grafite , blackberry , dark plum, cherry . On the palate more dark fruits , blackberry , dark plum , cherry , quite rich with dark chocolate, grafite nuances . Balanced acidity with quite gritty tannins . Slightly mineral and saline tinged on the medium length finish , with just a slight warmth from the alcohol noticeable . Certainly ambitious for a Castillion Cotes de Bordeaux , though unsurprisingly makes no mention of this on the front label ! This shows quite young , will improve over another 5 - 7 years and last a further 5-10. — 2 months ago
Balanced, no trace of evolution, elegant but shy, with plums, blackcurrant anf a hint of minerality — 11 days ago
Hot tub-! Meaning, Macon in the hot tub. Which also means that any wine tasted in hot tub conditions deserves better, & at least some recognition the hot tub distorts. Still, a lithe, Meyer lemon & mineral palate. Helps actually to be in, yes, the hot tub to loosen up the dimensionality. Would go back to this. — 2 months ago

Vintage 2009 | This is a Pomerol with a certain strictness. We tasted it blind next to a left bank wine but the tasters did not recognize this as a right bank wine. It seems to be made for the long haul, with clear tannines even after 15 years. Good integrated wood with a light vanilla impression. — 2 days ago
