The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Les Safres checks in at 14.98% alcohol. A short élevage of four months in stainless steel neatly preserved the vivid freshness. Combining fragrant honeysuckle, yellow apple, lime flesh and white peach aromas, the medium- to full-bodied 2023 closes with persistence on the sapid finale. Production totaled only 2,593 bottles. At or near peak . Luscious dark fruit and berries. — 4 months ago
Deep yellow gold. Abundant nose of dried quince and yellow flowers. Echoed on the medium light palate with white pepper and a light bit of balsa wood. Medium acidity and a long, palate-continuing finish. An unusual combination of lightness and oak driven weight that tastes heavier than it is making an excellent starter and meal wine. Drink now through 2027. — a year ago
Pretty classic Bordeaux, leathery and grippy tannins but opening up to nice fruit. Subtle cassis notes. — 9 days ago

Slight purple tongue. Drinks like a cab. Not buttery. acidic on the tongue but not on the throat. Barnyard on the back end, but not in a bad way. Great 2nd bottle. — a year ago

Tryna stay sober through the evening. Fig, bacon fat, leather, plenty of eucalyptus and mint, a bit of oregano and cherry/pomegranate on the long finish. Wow! — 2 days ago
