Chateau Barrail Meyney

Château Meyney

Cru Bourgeois Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1998

Surprised how well this was showing with its polished mouthfeel with mostly black fruit, graphite, leather, earth, subtle spice & tobacco. From a case purchased on release — 17 days ago

Château du Grand Barrail

Premières Côtes de Blaye Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Vintage 2010 | Solid petit Bordeaux with good balance, warm and spicy smell. This year is a slow developer, in 375 ml tannins are phasing out, but in magnum still very obvious. Paired with chicken, haricot verts. — 2 years ago

Château du Grand Barrail

La Révélation Des Vignobles Denis Lafon Premières Côtes de Blaye Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Vintage 2025 | My goodness this performs so much higher than the modest appellation; sophisticated smell with cedar and spices, very good structure and great taste. Paired with spaghetti carbonara. — 3 months ago

Château Lafon-Rochet

Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Last tasted 8.3.21. A little less overtly rich and smoky…slightly less body and more polish. Had I been blind tasting, woulda guessed 2015 Château Meyney. Still super smooth and über-drinkable. Starting to pick up a hint of tannic resistance. So good. — 4 years ago

Château Meyney

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2021

2021 vintage. A bit less body and oak than the last few vintages. Some bright frontal cherry and really good value along with (generally) being atypical of St. Estèphe as it comes across as softer. 10.8.25. — a month ago

Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Vintage 2010 | tuilé color, forrest smell, mushrooms, a vague hint of truffle, still some tannins but also a velvety taste. Love this! Dutch bottling by Jean Berger Ruremonde | Paired with a steak and kohlrabi and garlic from the oven — 3 years ago
