Roulot’s 2020 Luchets is gorgeous already, incisive, textural and captivatingly elegant showing impeccable clarity of clean and defined white orchard fruit, fresh lilies, marcona almond and stony minerals. The palate is creamy, pure and ultra mineral with racy citrusy acids and exceptional balance and detail. Beautiful wine. — 9 months ago
Cooler Shades of Pinot, 66/34 blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Willamette Valley. Pale golden, excellent clarity. Floral and citrus aromas, good acidity, rich mouthfeel, stone fruit, citrus flavors, lemon and lemon peel finish with length. Very well crafted — a year ago
Fragrant and red-fruit-driven nose shouting clarity of purpose led a crisp, somewhat linear palate of nicely delineated red and black fruit, black tea, asian spice. After a while in the glass secondary notes emerged of strawberry and even lilac. Great now but miles from peak with delightful acidity still driving the palate. Outstanding. — 2 months ago
We got a future legend here. Nose js exotic citrus, herbs galore, slate, some pink grapefruit and apricot. Very expressive and super clear. There is also an umami aroma that is so enticing. Stunning. 9.7 nose. Palate is a dream. Citrus and sweet lime along with gorgeous clarity and freshness. This is ungodly fresh. Awesome grip, acidity and length yet ephemeral and light on its feet. So juicy and tangy with lovely salt notes on the finish. This is magic and has elite finesse why it is a 9.7 wine. Can’t wait to see what air does. Now with air the nose gets confectionary. Unreal variety of citrus now. Some sea air. Now the palate has a lemon lime citrus sweet tart aspect and is gaining some crunch. Wow what a finish. This is genius. — 8 months ago
300 cases made. Ruby red, very good clarity, moderate to heavy pigment extraction. Rich flavor profile, slightly oily with black currant, cherry, raspberry notes in mouth. Light mouth coating tannins on finish. Mint and herb aftertaste. Nice complexity though fruit intensity seems lighter than tannin and alcohol levels. I like the acidity, not too low or high. Still highly ageable overall. After one hour, fruit expression intensifies, so decant at least that long — a year ago
Un tempranillo mezcla de rioja. este es mi tercero tempranillo desde rioja. espero sentirme un caballero. first scent was coke (cola) on the cork. hue is extremely dark. No clarity much turbidity in broad daylight. slight note of sweet cherry. much barrel and deep tannic tones of turbulence i find terrific. sour cherry on the tongue. Really dazzling deep wine brings the whole picnic and woodsy fairytale all together #tempranilloblend — 8 months ago
Ridiculous Rhini! What a nose. Red cherries and berries galore. You can smell the density. Gorgeous soil and limestone tones. Unreal expansiveness and so so aromatic. Just a crazy nose that has so much breadth. The clarity, purity and pinosity are off the charts. Palate is tangy and tense and as usual at chez Ziereisen it needs mega air but the structural architecture is there. A very red fruited expression of Pinot which seems to be the new direction this estate’s Pinots are going in which I am here for. Lovely bitter herbals on the nose now. Great freshness and acidity but needs to fill out. It will. I’ll be back. Fruit getting sweeter with air that classic hidden Rhini structure. Now with air the nose is super spicy and complex . Herbal and spicey. Fruit is so much sweeter and is like a squeegee on the palate and clings to the palate. So clean on the backend. Huge quality change on day 2. Nose is denser and cleaner with rich cherry fruits, pine resin, black forest vibes and spice. Wow. A 9.7 nose today. Palate is elegant and dense with that unreal Rhini elegant yet substantial structure and crazy complexity. Big but very very fine tannins. 9.5 to 9.6 overnight. — a year ago

Clearly a Sauvignon Blanc, which isn’t always a positive note for me, but the 12’ Pur Sang radiated such energy and clarity that made it impossible to not fall in love with. Aromas of pineapple, lemon, gooseberry, and fragrant white florals intertwined with subtle vanilla. On the palate, a delicate fruit sweetness was perfectly counterbalanced by herbal nuances and piercing, superb acidity, along with a crystalline texture and mineral backbone. Wicked wine as it is now, but it could easily spend more time on its side. — a month ago
