Wine prices in Tokyo tend to be expensive but this was about $200 AUD. Probably sounds dear but when you’re here that’s not too bad. Medium crimson in colour. Just medium bodied - red fruited with cherry, strawberry and earthy silty notes. On the palate went well with a Grade 4 Waygu steak which was very expensive but it was a good match. All very satisfying. From a good vintage in Piedmont. The photo is from the Delectable library but the vintage we had was 2016. — 3 months ago

Wine is Annabelle’s Block Pinot Noir from Klopp Ranch in Russian River Valley. Purchased wine at Donelan tasting organized by Ned and Beth on May 8, 2024. Tart black cherry, boysenberry and black currant fruit, with nice acidity, spice and chalky note. — 7 months ago

Deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruits, cigar box and cedar scents. On the palate flavors of black cherry, plum and currants with cacao, floral and oaky notes. Fine dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, floral, oak and earthy mineral character. Very Nice! Good now. — 2 months ago

Stellar Barolo. Definitely of the new school, lighter color, lightly structured, but radiant fruit in a refined style. Decanted 2hrs. Perfect pairing for veal/osso buco, maybe less so for a roast. Some debate whether more age would refine the fruit further or cause it to dissipate. No idea but have two more so can experiment! Made me want to get on an overnight to Piedmont tonight. — 4 months ago
