Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. In the 2005 Albesani pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears and no signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of tart and ripe red fruit: Morello cherry, pomegranate, red roses, cedar chest, a touch of leather, dried green herbs, and gravity earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. All around delicious. Drink now through 2035. — 8 months ago

The is a medium bodied wine with a light greenish straw color. Aromas of citrus blossom and white peaches . With flavors of tangerine, lime, white peach and a pleasant hint of mineral & acidity. Very crisp, smooth and enjoyable! — 7 months ago

The color of the Cantina del Pino “Gallina” Barbaresco, swear it, is “ruby squared”. While initially the nose was surprisingly muted, a quick decant seemed to turn the key to much greater depth. Stewed red fruits lead to a ‘growingly’ remarkable palate of bot power as well as finesse. While the tannins are obvious, evident, and young- it seems with every minute that goes by it relaxes. While doing so, revealing layer after layer of evolution and new experience. Like a lot of other Barbarescos: please be patient. Doing so will only reward you. — 2 months ago
