Super Tuscan blend of Merlot (75%) and Sangiovese (25%). Dark ruby/purple color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of dark cherry/berry fruit, forest floor, leather, graphite and wild herbs. Flavors of black cherry/berry and blueberry fruit, cola, tobacco and dark chocolate. Bit of vanilla on the long and drawn out finish. Firm, but well structured tannins and just enough acidity. vintage 2016 | 80% nebbiolo, 15% vespolina, 5% croatina. Ten years old and fully alive and kicking. Brownish colour, tertiairy tones in smell. Very good balance, integrated tannines. I loved the bouquet: stinky in the positive way, spices, stewed fruit. A hint of manure. A Piëmonte nebbiolo that I like. Paired with a lasagne. — 6 months ago
