“Corcelette” granite soils on a west-facing hillside, 400m elevation. Garnet color. Slightly crunchy texture with medium tannins, dark plummy fruit, baking spice, Assam tea — 3 months ago
Dagueneau has a beautiful range of wines—with the “Silex” label at the top. This “Blanc, etc.” is considered a more accessible, youthful bottling made from biodynamically farmed, younger vines, vinified & aged in stainless steel for a fresh & focused profile.
In the glass, this wine is pale lemon, with crystalline notes of gooseberry, honeydew, quince, starfruit, kumquat, lemon zest, chamomile, fennel, next to oystershell, gunflint & wet stones, lifted by a racy acidity and balanced by a medium alcohol and body.
It offers purity, texture & tension as well as versatility in terms of food-pairing prospects. — 5 months ago

I don’t know if it’s the five years of age, but it was short in the mouth despite promising beginnings. The nose was absolutely lovely. — 4 years ago

Drank the 2018 in November 2021 with sushi. Excellent apple and the touch of minerality that pared well with the seafood — 5 years ago
Generous and rounded with youthful fruit, minerally but no oxidative development — 2 months ago
50-year old vines close to Fleurie and Chiroubles (more pink granite soil). Dark garnet color, black tea and strawberry. Fresh with light tannins, but not much structure or acidity. Great for immediate drinking. — 3 months ago
My last bottle of the 2020, one of the riper versions I’ve had of this consistently excellent cuvée. Such deeply ripe gooseberry fruit that it crosses over into tropical. But there’s loads of freshness in the form of limestoney mineral scents. Ripe and deep on entry, but then the sneaky acids and the minerality clamps down, making the finish mouthwatering. Terrific accompaniment to our simple broiled haddock weeknight dinner. — 4 months ago

Another terrific vintage. Nothing petit about this Chablis. Give it a quick 15 minute decant. — 6 years ago
With oysters and bay bugs. Super drop. Balance between fruit, ‘ acidity and oak — 7 years ago

Red & Black, Red & Black , over and over.
Beautifully young , ‘23 stuff from Desvignes.
Opened for 3 hrs. No decant. With a dish of asparagus/shitakes/rhubarb…delicious. Earth and tart. With air and time in the glass, this develops a meatier, denser bottom and
a nice tannic backbone, always med-light body. Refreshing. — a month ago
