Second bottle from this vintage. Much better experience this time. Last wasn’t bad and perhaps was just an off night/bottle. This Solaia was packing significant range and depth. The fruit was beautifully structured and was so well rounded. Seemed more mature than just 5 years. Excellent. — 20 days ago
Bold after it rests open for a short while. Great with Italian of course and beef. — 8 days ago
1996 vintage. Tasted most recently on 8.2.24 (9.6) and that bottle was slightly better. Tasted out of magnum in 2023 and that rated as highly as the previous mention (9.6). This had a really nice fill, good cork and was decanted (throwing pretty big sed). Tasted after an hour. Gorgeous and with plenty of power but just barely dialed down from 11 with this bottle. Has this exalted winery made a better bottle of red or white wine in their entire existence? Not in my experiences. 9.29.24. — 2 days ago
Full-bodied and brimming with lush blackberry, black currant, and strawberry preserves. The plush, well-integrated tannins are present through a finish of dried thyme and tarragon, star anise, and warm leather. Paired well with homemade pizza. — 7 days ago
Great stuff with a long life ahead. Just entering its drinking window. — 6 months ago
Deep opaque purple. Vibrant smell of red berries and lavender. Full bodied but comes across as very ‘athletic’. Tannins and acidity are spot on and the wine leaves an impression of effortless presence and harmony. Impactful yet very refined. A tight rope walker, making it seem all so easy. Flirting with greatness yet so ephemeral. A wine that definitely leaves a vivid impression on your memory, like a painting. Bravo. 92+ (easily) — 21 days ago

This shows some nutty aromas and flavors over a still vibrant mineral core, solid acidity, medium-long finish, mature but still quite nice!! — 2 days ago
