Pale gold in colour. Black olives, yellow pears, and elderflower on the nose. Wet stones are there also. The salinity and fleshiness of black olives pops up on the palate, as well as a bit past overripe yellow pears and a tinge of balsamic sweetness. — 4 years ago
I really like this wine. It has a good mouth feel, some sweetness but not too much, juicy with a dry finish. There’s a lightness to it but also some structure. It’s quite elegant. Notes of elderflower. — 4 years ago
It’s like walking through a elderflower, chamomile, honeysuckle forest with a granite stream of water underneath. There’s also lychee, pear, peach, some more flowers. There’s an underlying tropical/floral shrub character on finish. I could smell for days. Outstanding and lived up to hype. Best Gewürztraminer I’ve had. — 2 years ago
Well balanced SB. No sharpness and very little acidity. Elderflower and fruit nose comes through nicely — 3 years ago
On the nose : Fresh honeysuckle with a touch of elderflower, broiled lemon, soft cheddar and bubbling spring with roasted pear which follows through on the palate with the elderflower and the honeysuckle, as well as young kiwi. Has almost a sake like texture with encompassing weight but is light at the same time. The weight dissipates while the flavor lingers. High acidity that is incredibly balanced — 4 years ago
Luscious aromas of green Anjou pears and Granny Smith apples, hints of blossoming elderflower, honeysuckle and subtle notes of lime zest, quince, bourbon vanilla and catmint leaves. A luxurious, textural rounded mineral long finish! — 4 years ago
Pale lemon colored, the 2020 Cloudy Bay is a bit more restrained than recent vintages and offers fresh aromas of asparagus, green bell pepper, gooseberry, elderflower, lemon zest, yellow apple, white peach and a dash of smoke. On the palate, the spiky acidity lends this medium bodied Sauvignon Blanc a vibrant freshness alongside a juicy finish. Drink now until 2024 — 2 years ago
It’s no wonder Gewurztraminer is one of the four noble grape varieties in Alsace, France. 👏👏👏 It’s uniquely expressive, perfumed, rich, and oily with youthful and pronounced aromas 👃 of lychee, açaí, papaya, mango, pineapple, also sweet spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and rose, stargazer lily, elderflower, and wet stone. 🤩🤩🤩
👁 This wine is deep gold. 👄 It’s dry with a modicum of residual sugar. It has medium acidity, a medium(+) body, medium alcohol, and pronounced flavors, consistent with the nose, including notes of lychee, açaí, papaya, mango, pineapple, also sweet spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and rose, stargazer lily, elderflower, and wet stone. The finish is medium(+).
We’ve paired this wine with grilled vegan brats and roasted zucchini.
