This was served to me single-blind, after the 2016 Cascina Fontana Barolo del Comune di Castiglione Falletto. I knew it was Barolo, but from where? It seemed like a broader shouldered wine that I might associate from the Comune di Barolo, but I wasn’t certain. The wine pours a deep, garnet color with a near opaque core. Medium viscosity, with no staining of the tears. On the nose, developing and much darker fruited than the Cascina Fontana with notes of dark cherry and some blackberry notes too. There was some tobacco, tar, red roses, minerals and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and delicious. Again, there is real quality here and a very lovely texture. And there it is: Borgogno’s Riserva Cannubi, 2011! I am not surprised this is Cannubi, with there being no shortage of quality fruit and all. This was really fun to enjoy. Drink now with some patience or through 2041. — 5 months ago
The origins of the Damilano family dates back to over a century ago, when Guiseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. Medium Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits and generous spice. On the palate this medium body wine shows flavors of juicy cherry and blackberry with notes of citrus and vanilla spice. Light tannin structure, lively acidity, medium ending with fruit finish. Nice value. Drink now, consistent, no aging benefit. — 6 months ago

Nice Riesling nose with diesel notes and citrus.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Showing citrus, ripped lemons, apples, spices, light diesel and light honey.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a tangy finish.
Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already enjoyable, even by itself.

Dark brick in color.
Pretty nose of stewed red fruits, light oak, spices, caramel, sweet chocolates notes, smoked meat and black pepper.
Light to medium in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, sweet cherries, cooked plums, earth, light forest floor, tobacco leaf, herbs and light black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy strawberries.
This 42 year old Barolo is just gorgeous now. Drinking beautifully with great complexity and mouthfeel. Elegant and rich. Well balanced and powerful.
Feels like it still has power in it to last even longer, although I don't see it getting much better from this point on. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine. Still showing great acidity and feels vibrant and very much alive. Delicious, powerful and delectable.
This is a wonderful experience. I just love tasting these kind of aged wines.
100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged for 12 months in cement vats and then for 5 years in Slavonian oak barrels.
