3rd time, favorite vintage. — 2 years ago
Just an awesome wine. Reinhardt calls it Germany’s Clos St. Hune and it might be! Nose is confectionary beyond. Like a cotton candy explosion. Gorgeous sweet minerality as well. Just a profound and airy nose. Wow. Palate is chock full of minerals and is elegant, linear and concentrated. So pure and long. Man is this also juicy with white peach .White peach now on the nose as well. Superb concentration and sap. Almost tannic on the finish and so fresh it’s crazy. This is a brilliant wine. Will track as it airs out. Citrus oil on the nose and it gains in roundness as it airs. Stunning. — 3 years ago
Another excellent btl, a little more than a year since my last. On the nose, wild strawberry doused in sugar, cotton candy, lovely green stem notes bring this back down to earth, then nice earthy notes. On the palate, fantastic acidity, soft strawberry, herbal notes, dark cherry, some bark and earth notes, and attenuated tannin on the clean and slightly spicy finish. Yum. — 6 years ago
2009 vintage was drinking great.... Adult candy during shelter in place! :) — 6 years ago
sweet tarts and cotton candy (without all the sugar). lemony acidity keeps you coming back for more. — 7 years ago
I have enjoyed this producers vineyard over many vintage and this might be the best.
The 22 vintage is stunning and as good as it is, 23 might be better based on a somewhat limited exposure at this point.
The entry is glorious…such balance and wire to wire it doesn’t change much.
Green apple, perfect lemon & lime pulp into subtle candy, grapefruit, white stone fruit, kiwi, tropical melons, pineapple, cream reduction, saline, perfect sea fossils, fine powdery taut chalkiness, crisp volcanics, white spice, grey volcanic minerals, limestone marl, mix of fresh & dry stubble herbs, honeysuckle, light caramel, warm lightly done toast, yellow florals, spring flowers with greens, grand waterfall acidity, beautiful structure-tension, incredible balance with an elegant finish that lasts two-minutes and long sets on volcanic minerals and spice.
Decanted 1 hour.
When I first started buying this bottling, it was $50-$60, now $150. Might be my last bought. My white spend has a more limited range than my red. Don’t think I’m alone.

The 2004 Cos d'Estournel has an impressive bouquet with black cherries, hoisin, rose petals and blood orange scents, all mixed with melted tar and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied, with a strong menthol element on the entry that rather dominates the terroir expression. It is very spicy on the finish, with cough candy on the aftertaste. It may be a bit bombastic considering the vintage, but it will continue to age in bottle. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

Perfect with a grilled steak. Plenty of time for further aging. Great tannins with a long berry finish. — 5 years ago
Every cherry and strawberry candy from childhood. Candy lipstick, Twizzlers, red Starburst, cherry Jolly Rancher. In the best way. But also all grown up - peppery green moss, thyme, lavender, spiced orange. A serious, complex, powerfully intense Rose’ for the main course. — 6 years ago

Wow… this is a wonderful Ozzie Shiraz in that typical, oldfashioned, high-octane, push-the-pedal-to-the-metal personality.
Beautifully aged, showing a mahogany rim plus great secondaries and tertiaries over the still abundant baked plum and blackberry goodness. I’m talking smoked meat, sweet licorice candy, cocoa nibs, caramel, black pepper and olives, espresso, damp forestfloor and BBQ sauce. Delicate hints of orange zest, uplifting balsamic acidity and soft yet palpable tannines make this quite a bold but very classy drink!
Deep, dark and dense. Last bottle of a sixpack and easily the best. Terrific!
I also like the clever, tongue-in-cheek message on the backlabel: “Your wish is our Command” 😁 — 10 months ago
Historic style of making champagne, eye of the partridge is something between a Blanc de Noirs and Rose. Such an appetizing rose gold color. Pastry/biscuit, strawberries & cream & clementine on the nose, much more lithe, tense and bright on the palate.
Honestly it’s hard to come up with descriptors because it’s just a joy to drink.
Disgorged last year on Valentine’s Day.
I’m really digging the Vesselle wines these days and they are so reasonably priced for the quality. — 3 years ago
Love, love this Rosé having a hard time finding more! Balance between fruits, acidity and minerals..exceptional as always!
Gorgeous orange in color! Great Med+body..great salinity.
Delicious nectarine, white peach, watermelon, strawberries, cotton candy, chalk dust, Raneir cherries, honeydew, white flowers...anyway a wine that everytime you smell and taste; something new stands proud! — 5 years ago
I am not the biggest fan of a lot of CA Chardonnays but, I have come to fully embrace Arnot-Roberts, this vintage & terrior.
This is not a wine you want well chilled...better just under room temperature. When well chilled, it loses too much of its beauty & sheer elegance. Shows more CA Chardonnay structure/backbone with big green apple. When it is cold it does pair better with the Lattebusche Piave Vecchio...a drier, harder cheese. When it warms, the best choice is the Jasper Hill Farms soft, full cream. white, Harbison.
After it has warmed & had about a half-hour of air, the nose is rounded, lush & ruby. Sweet & sour lemon, green & golden apple, overripe pineapple, guava, green melon, kiwi with skin, lime candy, caramel, gentle, white spice, just a glimmer of, herbaceousness, chalk, grey volcanics, melted, brown butter with yellow flowers/lilies, jasmine, spring flowers with mixed greens.
The body is rich, lush and full, a touch gluey with good viscosity. Sweet & sour lemon, green & golden apple, overripe pineapple, guava, green melon, kiwi with skin, tangerine, lime candy, honeysuckle, caramel, cream, gentle, white spice, just a glimmer of, herbaceousness, chalk, grey volcanics, limestone, melted, brown butter with yellow flowers/lilies, jasmine, spring flowers with mixed greens. The acidity is phat, round and really well done. The rich, well balanced, elegant, long finish is delicious, settling into persistent, delicate white spice.
Just misses 94.

New vintage of this Cab and Petit Verdot blend. Grippy tannins, and powerful layered red and black fruit. Long finish. As the wine opens up beautiful hints of cassis. Nicely integrated at 5 years. Great wine to celebrate all the moms. ❤️😊 — 2 months ago
