2022. Weather was really encouraging rosé on the patio, so we were happy to oblige! Loads of chunky sediment that was easily kept in the bottle (kind of). Delicious pink grapefruit, strawberry, watermelon. Mouthwatering acidity, but balanced with the fruit. — a year ago
Drinking last third of bottle opened 4 days ago. Slightly brick red but crystal clear. Tar and@leather@on the nose Bright cherry raspberry. Deliciously long finish. Drink now@or hold a couple more years. — 2 years ago
2022. Really delicious and balanced skin contact wine. Savory notes without the funk of some similar style wines. We loved it paired with Persian kebabs, spreads, and salads. — 5 days ago
2022. More complex aromas and flavors than most pet-nat that I’ve had. Pulled out of the beer fridge because I wanted an Averna Spritz before dinner. ~200 mL of Sparkling Wine for two spritzes means there was enough left to enjoy on its own. — 2 months ago
One of my favorite merlot wines ever. Last bottle, 10 years old. An amazing nose of a basket of berries in the sun at a picnic table in a redwood grove with freshly cut grass nearby. It smells divine. There’s also a baking spice berry pie element but acidity is prominent. Palate is just wonderful berry bramble and more baking spice, good tannin, a hint of dried fruit but this is tasting fresh still. What a wine!! Wish they didn’t make 47 different wines each year and focused on stuff like this. — a year ago
2021. Really enjoy this sparkler and it was great with Korean Chicken Wings tonight! — 23 days ago
At Flying Goat, the goal is to produce unpretentious, playful wines while retaining a serious quality focus and commitment to a purity of expression from single-vineyard sites such as the Solomon Hills Vineyard, Bien Nacido Vineyard, Rancho Santa Rosa, to name a few.
This intention is reinforced by everything from the whimsical labels (Flying Goat, Goat Bubbles, YNOT), to the critical acclaim Flying Goat Cellars has garnered for its impressive wines, to the impeccably balanced and delicious Pinot Noir and vintage, traditional method sparkling wines.
This 2016 blanc de noirs sparkler — made with Pinot Noir hailing from the Bien Nacido Vineyard — is medium gold in appearance, with a fine and creamy mousse, and fresh notes of just-ripe yellow apple, pear, white peach, lemon zest, citrus blossom, biscuit, toast, brioche, toasted almond, and marzipan. It has a lingering, elegant finish.

2022. We loved the 2019 Martha Stoumen Carignan we had this afternoon, so we wanted to try this D&G when we went looking for another bottle. A bit darker fruit flavor and earthier, and took ~15 minutes to open up. A little more tannic bite but paired equally well with leftover kebabs. — 5 days ago
