Interesting Orange wine. Strong tannins, dark and musty, better when paired with a fatty meal to help cut through the acidity. — a year ago
Very nice Chardonnay. Ripe melons, honey & vanilla. Oaky as I like them! — 4 years ago
Un vin surprenant, se boit bien, rien ne cloche, du fruit en masse, les tannins se sont calmés un peu depuis quelques années, très typé Gevrey et très bien surtout au prix payé à l’époque. 90-91
Surprisingly good wine for the price paid at the time especially, nice fruit, the tannins are now silkier, good balance, still Gevrey like in character. — 5 years ago
Vraiment super. 20 Euros à retester. — 5 years ago
Ça pétille en masse ! Brut et ça paraît. Très sec sans trop, pas dutout sucré. — 4 years ago
Très fumé 😋 un chouille beurré — 4 years ago
Classic aromatics of cedar, cassis, dark fruits and some spices. The wine is dense, open for the youth of the wine and the vintage, grippy tannins that have an approachable almost silky texture, the fruit is very present, decent length at best though but a very good bottle even at this stage.

Montagny 1er Cru “Les Terroirs” — Famille Masse (Fabrice Masse), 2024, Burgundy, France 🇫🇷
Overview
A refined Premier Cru Chardonnay from Montagny in the Côte Chalonnaise. Crafted in a clean, restrained Burgundian style, focused on precision, freshness, and terroir expression rather than oak weight.
Aromas & Flavors
Green apple, lemon zest, pear skin, white peach, crushed limestone, subtle almond and faint white blossom notes.
Mouthfeel
Light to medium body, dry, crisp and linear. Bright acidity keeps everything lifted and sharp. Clean finish with minimal oak influence and no buttery heaviness.
Food Pairings
Oysters, shrimp cocktail, ceviche, grilled white fish, scallops, goat cheese crostini, light seafood tapas.
Verdict
Elegant, delicate, and beautifully composed. A Chardonnay that prioritizes clarity and minerality over richness. Impressive restraint, classic, polished, and very much in the “clean Burgundy” lane.
Did You Know?
Montagny is the southernmost village of the Côte Chalonnaise dedicated exclusively to white wines. Premier Cru sites often deliver excellent value compared to Côte de Beaune counterparts.
🍷 Personal Pick
This is my kind of Chardonnay, crisp, mineral, and oak-disciplined (just a kiss of it). An easy opener that stays precise and delicious from first sip to last.

Domaine Georges Glantenay Pommard 1er cru Rugiens Hauts 2017:
Lots of gorgeous red fruit, this 2017 is showing well despite the yourh and cru, nothing rustic there, some power but well balanced with freshness, finesse and energy, nice length too, excellent. — 4 years ago
Sweet cherries, pickled mushrooms, racy, resolved. Grew in the glass, shaking off those cobwebs, then turned a bit sour. Small window where it was excellent. — 5 years ago
Lots of delicious and expressive red fruit, drinks easy but with more and more depth and complexity as it ages slowly. Even better on day 2. 90-91
Du fruit rouge en masse, très Pinot et un profil parfumé et expressif mais ça se boit tellement bien, encore meilleur jour 2. — 5 years ago
