Fleur De La Vallée

Dom Pérignon

Brut Rosé Champagne 1986

Soft and plush. Wild strawberry and wet stone. Some faint floral notes. Focused, delicate and precise. Haunting fruit. Still fresh.. a wonderful bottle. — 3 days ago

Jacques Selosse

Lieux Dits Aÿ La Cote Faron Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne Blend

The first “ah ha” Selosse wine for me many years ago. The south facing La Côte Faron is particularly “Selossien” and therefore particularly singular, with its oxidative complexity, textural richness and generous sun kissed ripe fruit expression. Like all Selosse wines, it’s layered and particularly aromatic for Champagne with intense caramelized red berry fruit, licorice and wildflower honey. The palate shows tremendous volume and intensity with a powerful, full bodied and satiny texture and a long, vibrant, mineral finish. So good. — 21 days ago

Yes, the oxidative quality of this champagne stands alone, even amongst other Selosse wines. I adore it.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Solid but lacked the wow factor we were expecting for a 2005 vintage. Or, maybe we’ve just become really picky with all the nice wine we’ve been drinking?! 🤔
Nice smooth texture and a strong dark chocolate taste. Really good wine but didn’t blow us away.

Château Fleur Cardinale

Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

First bottle corked. Luckily able to pull another from the cellar to compare. What a difference! Great learning when you can compare. Black cherry, smooth, decent acidity, very soft tannins. First bottle was wet cardboard. — 18 days ago
