Bought through the Miner wine club, enjoyed while celebrating a big promotion. Perfection with my husband's perfectly grilled steak and asparagus. — 16 days ago

Domaine François Raveneau

Blanchot Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2012

Light gold. Very poised with some secondary notes of corn, jasmine, a whiff of honey. Some lime and cool stone with salinity. Very rounded and delicious. Calm and detailed. Excellent — 3 months ago

Louis Latour

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 1983

Served around 55°F. The cork looked all kinds of nasty underneath the capsule but I was able to extract it, intact, with the help of a Durand. I then poured the bottle into a decanter about 30min prior to service. At the ripe age of 41, the 1983 pours a deep gold with a transparent core; medium viscosity with some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of baked stone fruits: peach, apricot, marmalade, hazelnuts, baked lemon, and those gummy peach rings. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is creamy, buttery. I thought this was a lovely, mature Corton Charlemagne and while it is very much alive, its life-force is fading. Drink now. — 6 months ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2008

#AgedWineTuesday

Light gold in color.

Nice crisp nose with limes and brioche.

Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity and small bubbles.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing citrus, yeast, minerals, bread, green apples, herbs, earth, lemon juice and white pepper.

Long finish, tasty and elegant.

This 16 year old still feels very young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Rich and well balanced.

I love this vintage of Dom Perignon. Complex and interesting. I've had this vintage it a few times before, and it is very consistent.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. Good stuff.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Château Rieussec

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2005

Deep gold in color. Lower acidity than expected. Lots of white stone fruit and sweetness with some biscuit on the palette. Great complement to Brie. For the vintage and the producer a little underwhelming. — 6 months ago

Classic orange/gold color. Citrus/orange on the nose with some subtle oak. Wine is thinner than usual and lacking depth and flavor. Very short finish. — 2 months ago

Spätburgunder Wanne 2015

Turned into a beauty. Fully developed soft and mellowed out. Still nice fruit. Hint band aid, chocolate, bark. Dark ripe cherries. Hint blackberry and lime. Plenty of acidity. Could go 5 more years or so. At some point i have to take a look at the “Wanne” aka Bathtub vineyard. — 4 months ago

Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 1999

Yellow gold with copper hue, quite thin pale rim . Caramelised pineapple, saffron , vanilla , creme brûlée , quite rich and decadent. On the palate again quite rich , barley sugar , creme brûlée and saffron, just enough acidity to balance and a little alcoholic warmth . On the medium length finish , lemon rind and a touch of caramel . This is probably at peak now , just misses a little vibrancy , freshness, however successful for the vintage . Drink now and over the next 10- 15 years — 4 months ago
