Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and some herb notes, mostly Cab Sauv with small amounts of Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, aged 16 months in 44% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with sweet spice, cedar and notes of cacao. A consistent wine and a good value. Medium+ finish, fine tannins, well balanced ending with fruit , toasty oak and herb tobacco spice. — 2 years ago
Very fresh, lively, primarily redfruited aromas and flavors, some spicy notes as well, super nicely balanced, great acid, shows admirable restraint, should age nicely midterm (5-10 years?), very good “entry level” Zinfandel, long finish!! I’d read that the 2023 Zins, grown in a relatively cooler year, had a very long growing season, with excellent acidity, and I’d say this shows all of those characteristics. Morgan nailed this, it was great to finally meet his “adult” version, my wife and I first met him about 35 years ago at a ZAP event at Ravenswood hosted by his father Joel. — a month ago
Good one #earthy and fruity, 22month anniversary — a year ago
This wine is juicy. It has a wonderful juicy, vanilla, smooth aroma and taste. It has some vanilla notes and it's smooth but not buttery like in some Chardonnay. It's very fruit forward with peach flavors lingering after the finish. I'm surprised by this Chardonnay, wonderfully surprised. It is so good! I feel likenthe wine ages as you drink it, so you'll experience wondeful different flavors as you drink.
Color: Yellow, golden, wheat color like Chardonnay. Beautiful gold like a ome would expect in a gold carrier bracelet.
Aroma: lovely kinda sweet, creamy, vanilla aroma with some peach aromas. Smells quit fruit forward and like juice ripe fruit mixed in a creamy vanilla. But it doesn't smell sweet like dessert. There's some toasty aromas like Graham crackers. It smells absolutely delicious, you just can't wait to dive in.
Taste:
There's some nice acid that gives a little shock to the jaw as your tongue is loving layer with a smooth, vanillay flavor. The flavor gently fades away in the finish. It feels like you've bitten into a wonderful ripe piece of summer fruit like a juicy peach and tangerine. It's a clean refresh finish when chewed. As the wine airs, it gets gently bitter like an orange peel. — 3 years ago
Well balanced red blend, though don’t know what comprises the mix. Dark fruits with a little oak and vanilla. Light tannins, quite smooth and fruit steps up at the finish. Great TJs buy from the consistently good Bogle. — 4 months ago
This ain’t half bad. Maybe I just like to lavish out reasonable marks, but it’s a crowd-pleaser. Lemon rind, roasted almonds and roasted nuts on the nose lead to a weighty, sweet mid palate. Lacking acidity along with a relatively short, exotic finish, I’m willing to overlook its fault lines, cos overall it’s good. — 2 years ago
Super glu, glu w homegrown broccoli rabe and ground pork pasta. Vibrant purple and conjours a bit of the juicy, fresh, snappy character of a good Dolcetto or Valpolicella. — 3 years ago

2021 red blend Columbia Valley. Consumed in July 2024. I have previously rated the same bottle, but since this is a different vintage, I thought I would do it again. It’s still consistently a good wine. Goes great with food. I also enjoy it by itself. The bottle does not tell me what the blend is And the bottle talks about mixing street art with wine making. — a month ago
