2019 vintage. Investigating +-$20 red Bordeaux, part three. This was (not unexpectedly with the Von Neipperg style) the best of the three. Nice nose. Medium-medium heavy body. Not much in terms of tannic structure but compliant fruit without being a fruit bomb. Retail price was in the low-$20's. Would definitely hit this again. 6.1.24. — 7 months ago
It was very good on its own, I would have preferred to drink it alone as opposed to a white tasting party with other wines — a year ago
Blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). Medium ruby/garnet color with a slight brick colored rim. Aromas and flavors of dried cherries, currants, boysenberries and blueberries with notes of orange zest, graphite and violets. Pleasant long finish. Soft tannins and creamy/velvety texture. Extremely well balanced. Silky tannins. Aging gracefully. — 8 months ago
Vintage 2017 | the Bulgarian domain of Stephan von Neipperg. 52 Merlot 26 Syrah 14 Petit Verdot 8 Cabernet Sauvignon | two hours decant | Sultry amarone cherries in smell, spicy taste, at first not so easy, but with food smooth | with a ovendish of pointed cabbage and minced meat — a year ago
Thoroughly enjoyable wine to accompany a steak@dinner! — 4 months ago
