Cutizzi Greco di Tufo 2022

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2022 pours a pale yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart tropical and citrus fruits: passion fruit, star fruit, lemon and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and acid zip is pronounced. Drink now. — 6 days ago

Piano di Montevergine Taurasi Aglianico 2016

Really good. Needs a few hours of air. I’m guessing will be better in 5 years. Cherries, tobacco, strawberry jolly rancher, earth, a bit of evergreen. — 4 months ago

After 15 years this is starting to shed its gloomy and cranky nature. Black fruit, volcanic minerality, tons of fiery and smoky nuances, refreshing acidity.
Very nice!

Rubrato Irpinia Aglianico 2018

Dark ruby/purple color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of ripe black berry/currant fruit, ash, smoke and leather. Sour red and black cherry fruit on the palate with additional notes of figs, black olives, woody herbs and black pepper spice. Nice hint of charred oak on the medium-plus finish. Well balanced and powerful. Better as it opened up so give this wine a decant. Solid QPR. — 3 months ago

Greco di Tufo 2022

This never disappoints. Fruity and well balanced acidity make it a nice aperative on a hot summer day. The bells of the Santa Maria della Costa on 20 meters give it an extra uplift. The view is spectacular btw. — 9 months ago

This was sailing… meaty nose of rich burnt ends coupled with plum jam. Palate was viscous and mineral driven. S little too much acidity with a slightly citrus finish. Nice juxtaposition with the Siro, but this was always destined for second place tonight. — 2 months ago
