Nose is impressive and perfumed. All flavors and scents are beautifully translated into the palate. Blueberry pancakes, sultry black cherries, dark plums, salty licorice sweets (traditional Dutch ‘zoute drop’..), smoked ham, spicebox (black pepper/cloves/cardamom). Quite robust yet extremely harmonious, never overbearing. Loved the acidic silver linings and ultra ripe, powdery tannines.

This is big Barossa energy. The 2013 Hoffmann Vineyard Shiraz is the flagship collaboration between Ringland and the Hoffmann family, and it shows; dense, dark, and unapologetically rich. Sourced from seriously old vines (some over 100 years), it’s aged more than five years in new French oak, with only the best barrels making the final cut.

Expect deep aromas of blackberry, mulberry, roasted meat, and exotic spices, layered with tar, soy, and a firm oak backbone. On the palate, it’s plush, powerful, and smooth as silk, with velvety tannins and serious aging potential.

Boys weekend in Detroit.
A very lifted expression of burgundy. So much focus and separation on the mid palate. Waxy lemons define the texture on the palate, which then combine with white fruits. Superb length on the finish. Moderate acidity and delicate sweetness bring home a wonderful experience from start to finish.
