It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, cedar, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins.
This is a delicious Merlot from Santa Clara Valley in California. Rich, yet elegant.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.
Good by itself, and will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec. Aged for 36 months in oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Pale ruby in color; bright cherries, black tea, and potpourri on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like cranberries, raspberries, and clay pots with a long finish. Nellie didn't like it, Thy says it's gross, Jason says it's ok, I like it, and Wine Spectator ranked it as number 9 in its top 10 list of wines for 2024. — 5 days ago
