Dark berries, delicious — a month ago
80 Old vines, 30 varieties, mainly tinta roriz, 16 months French oak. Robert Parker 93 points. Berry forward, high acid, field blends are the oldest vines, highest price points — a month ago
Very tasty aged Portuguese red. If I had it blind, I would guess Northern Spanish - Ribera del Duero or Rioja. Smooth and slightly musty/earthy from the age (got some cork crumbles). Opens pretty quickly, with concentrated red fruit and some blackberry. Pleasant tannic grip with a soft texture. Bold flavor throughout, big body (14.5% abv), some pepper and dry grass on a savory finish. Nice for a reasonable price. — 9 days ago
Dark red purple. Inviting nose and medium full, fruit-forward (for a European) palate of blueberry-blackberry compote. Bright medium acidity and medium minus tannins that mostly assert back-palate. Dark and slightly bitter finish (Touriga Nacional showing). Fine example of Portuguese non-Porto red. Ready for hearty entrées like roasted beef or pork. Drink now through 2028. — 2 months ago
Spice, sausage, black cherry, pepper, higher tannins, similar to Merlot. Single varietal. Robert a Parker 92 points. 16 mo French oak. — a month ago
Just opened and poured and tasted, the bouquet was strong dark fruit with floral notes. Still a dark red with no visible signs of being 10 years old. Full mouth, delicious, really impressive again! — 20 days ago
Super velvety, light to medium body but still very plump. Very long finish. Would drink! — 19 days ago
Smoked peppercorns — a month ago
Baga normaal gesproken pas na 10jr te drinken. Deze gemaakt voor jong. Niepoort familie. Prachtige geparfumeerde geur. Doet denken aan Nebbiolo in de geur, smaak in line. — 3 months ago

This wine tastes fantastic right now, but I agree with WS’s assessment that it could benefit from years in the bottle. Purchased on sale, $35, a steal.
WS: 94. This is broad and evokes plum, cherry, earth and iron aromas and flavors, picking up a salty taste while evolving on the palate. Supple in texture and nicely balanced, this is driven by lively acidity, with a light grip of tannins on the extensive finish. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best from 2026 through 2042. 22,000 cases made, 10,000 cases imported.
