Very tannic, high acidity. A plum and a lot of earthy notes, with leather and vanilla maybe. Very good, but maybe too young. — 4 months ago
Vintage 2014 | This Pessac Leognan delivers. Ten years old the colour is brownish. In smell lovely complexity: spices, liquorice, flint, warmth. Impressions of plums and tobacco. Surprising velvety taste, clearly a point! | paired with Cantonese beef and mango. — 5 months ago
Have had the 2009 vintage twice, in 2024 at a tasting and in early 2025. The first was the best of the tasting, and the second was a fine compliment to spring leg of lamb. dark fruit and smooth tannins. $68 when purchased in 2024. — 6 days ago
2009 vintage. A blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. This estate has an impressive track record of high quality, even before it was bought by the Bernard family. Olivier Bernard managed to considerably expand the vineyards without compromising the quality of the wine, which is one my favourites. Unfortunately they use 100% Diam corks these days, which sadly stopped me from buying the wines. Anyway, this deeply coloured 2009 is a beauty that starts to shine with only 5 minutes in the glass. Impressive aromatics of black fruit, cedar wood, dark chocolate, vanilla, subtle spices and delicate floral hints. In the mouth it is extremely elegant and effortless, with everything in the right place. Exquisite balance with layered, perfectly ripe ( but not jammy) black fruit, embedded in a solid ripe tannic structure, and a very, very long finish. Everything falls into place, nothing is overdone, absolutely impressive, even if I believe it hasn't even reached its peak yet. This should age effortlessly for decades. Ab. 13,5%. — 4 months ago
Pale yellow with slight green. Oak, rich, herb, ripen fruit like pear. Quite high viscosity. Vanilla, almond. Roasted. Enough Acidity. Elegancy. Carbonnieux blanc from one of the best regions for white, Pessac-Leognan in Grave from Bordeaux. 19 @8800, AD, 240602 — 8 months ago
A complex and evolving red blend from Pessac-Leognan, yet approachable. Plenty of red fruits, multi-layered on the secondary aromas, great mouthfeel, medium plus tannins, dry to mid-range of the palate. Finish is under 7-10 seconds. Nice structure, well-balanced between wood and dry leaves. Alone or with food pairing does the job. — 2 months ago
Dark rust, translucent, mature on the nose (leather and cherries) and palate (cherries, red currants and tobacco) from this fine Pessac-Leognan Bordeaux blend — 4 months ago
Impressive Pessac Leognan. Smooth tannins, slight smokey aromas, and smooth deep berry flavors. It’s a food wine, like with a nice fillet. — 8 months ago

1996 vintage. Still good fruit, Pessac-Léognan spices. A very good second wine. Drinking well, but I believe it will hold for at least a decade. Serious length too. — 10 days ago
