Pomegranate, cassis, bitter/unsweetened chocolate, forest floor, graphite, ash (but not smoke), dried strawberry, clay dust — there’s a little blueberry in there too. Elegant and subtle with many flavors I can’t pinpoint. Could age a long while. Wine with a capital “W.” 94…others with better palates would probably go higher. — 6 months ago
Very tannic, high acidity. A plum and a lot of earthy notes, with leather and vanilla maybe. Very good, but maybe too young. — a month ago
Dark rust, translucent, mature on the nose (leather and cherries) and palate (cherries, red currants and tobacco) from this fine Pessac-Leognan Bordeaux blend — 2 months ago
La Parlement des Graves restaurant Bordeaux, Graves was a first for me, introduced by the proprietor, Pessac Leognan, good structure, plummy, tabac, breathed a bit and very quaffable. — 3 months ago
Pale yellow with slight green. Oak, rich, herb, ripen fruit like pear. Quite high viscosity. Vanilla, almond. Roasted. Enough Acidity. Elegancy. Carbonnieux blanc from one of the best regions for white, Pessac-Leognan in Grave from Bordeaux. 19 @8800, AD, 240602 — 6 months ago
Pretty deep . Quite earthy , blueberry , blackcurrant , spicy cassis . Good volume , sweet fruit , cassis , spicy blueberry . Ok acidity , quite grippy but ripe tannins . Ok length . Still quite young, will benefit for more time in the cellar . From now and over the next 10 years or so . A good example from this chateau. — 2 months ago
Vintage 2014 | This Pessac Leognan delivers. Ten years old the colour is brownish. In smell lovely complexity: spices, liquorice, flint, warmth. Impressions of plums and tobacco. Surprising velvety taste, clearly a point! | paired with Cantonese beef and mango. — 3 months ago
Impressive Pessac Leognan. Smooth tannins, slight smokey aromas, and smooth deep berry flavors. It’s a food wine, like with a nice fillet. — 5 months ago

2009 vintage. A blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. This estate has an impressive track record of high quality, even before it was bought by the Bernard family. Olivier Bernard managed to considerably expand the vineyards without compromising the quality of the wine, which is one my favourites. Unfortunately they use 100% Diam corks these days, which sadly stopped me from buying the wines. Anyway, this deeply coloured 2009 is a beauty that starts to shine with only 5 minutes in the glass. Impressive aromatics of black fruit, cedar wood, dark chocolate, vanilla, subtle spices and delicate floral hints. In the mouth it is extremely elegant and effortless, with everything in the right place. Exquisite balance with layered, perfectly ripe ( but not jammy) black fruit, embedded in a solid ripe tannic structure, and a very, very long finish. Everything falls into place, nothing is overdone, absolutely impressive, even if I believe it hasn't even reached its peak yet. This should age effortlessly for decades. Ab. 13,5%. — a month ago
