Slightly fresher & more exotic be the Batailley.
Black fruit galore, cedar wood, minty whiffs, exotic spice.
Soft & quite mellow on the palate. Yet fresh. The tannins are so finely grained & juicy - dusty, sandy fine. Poised, so elegant, classic Bordeaux. Great mid palate, nice length & depth. This is probably at a perfect drinking window right now. So delightful. — a year ago
No formal notes . Medium ruby , quite thin ruby garnet hued rim. This shows grafite , cassis and quite classic character , touch of spicy oak, quite cool and refined . Cool cassis , grafite notes, good balance, fresh acidity and fine but noticeable tannins , touch of spicy oak on the finish . This is classic and elegant in style, with cool fruits and mineral notes. Not a big wine but well balanced . Drinking well now and probably over the next 10 years . The second bottle is a little different , a little more roasted and oaky , touch more advanced , but balanced still and enjoyable . Relatively good value pick I would imagine in most places … less so here in Dubai — a month ago
Celebrating the Brisbane Lions winning the AFL Grand Final in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon over the Sydney Swans. This champagne was mid yellow in colour with a fine mousse. A fruit driven palate with citrus and peach. I don’t drink a lot of Champagne but this was a real crowd pleaser. Full flavoured with 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir. — a year ago

2nd growth Sauternes, .375ml bottle shared w friends. Lanolin, liqueur soaked apple, acid forms almost miraculously at end of the long finish. End cap to a fine 3 course meal, cooked & served by culinary students at a local university. Paired perfectly to a deconstructed Tarte tartin & Vietnamese cinnamon ice cream- wowza! — 6 days ago
