Well, what an overachiever this wine is! Mayne Lalande, a little known chateau in Listrac-Médoc, and a bottle which I picked up for a humble price at auction around a year ago. It’s fresh, sappy, delicious and positively refreshing at 12% abv. I wish I had more of this. A joyous rendition of old left-bank Bordeaux. — 7 months ago
The 2011, absurdly good, the structure was woven and perfect, and the combination of red fruit and richness and earthiness was absolutely heaven. — 8 months ago

Beautiful wine. Super well integrated and fine tannins. Will be spot on perfect upon release. Nice velvety texture all the way thru. — 2 months ago
The first night it kind of got a little overwhelming to be perfectly honest. I had to call it quits and try it again a couple of days later and then I finally got the smoky and earthy and savory flavors. The structure is definitely there and it takes some time to unwind. Very tight very expressive Wine, definitely enjoyed it. — 2 months ago

This is a very tasty Merlot from Saint Emilion. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and elegant. Complex and interesting.
This 23 year old is much fruitier than I expected it to be. I absolutely loved the nose on this, and kept going back for more.
Good by itself or with food. A great experience to taste these kind of old wines.
