Le Cigare Orange Grenache Gris Blend 2023

Not much info these days on the label about the grape varieties used, but it’s fruity, full flavored, an almost viscous body, and it’s orange in color. Not much skin astringency for an orange, but you know all they’ll talk about is the color. Good value though.
The vineyard website suggests a 44.5/25/14/9.5/7 blend of Grenache Blanc, Pinot Gris, Grenache Gris, Orange Muscat and Chenin Blanc, with aromas of stone fruit and citrus with flavors of peach, apricot and citrus peel. Fair enough

Klein Constantia

Vin de Constance Natural Sweet Muscat à Petits Grains 2011

Caramel, nougat, dried apricot. Rich orange amber color. Tasted side by side with the 2018 and fascinating to see the development of flavor and color. Seems like time is the major ingredient for success here. Tasted with dried mango, caramelized pecans, and Roquefort. — 2 months ago

Tears of Vulcan Viognier Blend 2022

New vintage, 46/44/10 blend of Viognier, Pinot Gris and Muscat. Honey golden yellow, very good clarity. Slight sulfite on nose. Dry, flavors interpolate between the Pinot Gris and Viognier. Didn’t pick up much of the Muscat. Moderate skin astringency on the finish (bear in mind this is an orange wine). Floral, linalool and passion fruit flavors. Give the tannins a little time to soften. Dry as the Gobi Desert, so pair it with something tasty. Cheese? Fries? Something… — 3 months ago
