Medium bodied berry with minerality. . . — 24 days ago
Atypical Sicily wine: rel. low alcohol and medium bodied. Though present tannins and acid. Fruity and mineral notes. High complexity. Bought it today at the vinery and love it! — 4 months ago
Excellent funk… Bootsy meets Michael Jackson. — 6 months ago
The 2022 Sottobanco, a varietal Procanico, displays dried flower, crushed rocks, underbrush and apricot aromas. Textural and weighty, it’s lifted by zesty acidity and mineral tones. An ambrosia-like wave of nectarine and ripe melon follows. The 2022 finishes spicy and with candied ginger hints. $24.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, July 2023) — 2 years ago

This is a story of two wines. The first one is what I experienced the first evening I tapped the bottle through Coravin, after about 20 minutes in the glass. It opened up to a beautiful melange of red fruit, a touch of spice and an off the charts, distinctive grippy minerality. Truly beautiful. Though they come from radically different climates, it reminds me of the beautiful that Teroldegos of Foradori, or a prettier Hugh end Beaujolais Cru.But it’s so hard to catch it right. Between the whiff of funk at the start, the closed off moments and the drop in quality on day 2 (24h after Coravin!) it’s always a good wine but so much fragility to catch it as its peak — 3 months ago
Very interesting has a lot on minerality, but isn’t dry. It isn’t sweet either more round. — a year ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. Arianna’s 2022 “Il Frappato” pours a ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of tart red fruits: strawberry, pomegranate, subtle Eastern spices and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. As usual, a fresh, elegant and serious expression of Frappato. Drink now through 2032. — 3 days ago
