Petite Fleur

Stags' Leap Winery

Napa Valley Petite Sirah 2020

Mostly Petite Sirah with small amounts of Syrah, Grenache and other mixed Rhône varieties, aged 14 months in American oak, 19% new, very dark Ruby-purple with aromas of ripe dark fruits and an array of spices from cigar box to full spice cake. On the palate flavors of black cherry preserves and blackberry jam, layering in some licorice, leather, tobacco and black pepper spice. Savory grippy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice, oak and earthy character. A powerhouse! Decant first! — 24 days ago

The Prisoner Wine Company

Napa Valley Zinfandel Blend 2021

Muddled dark cherries and blackberries, maybe currant(?), tobacco leaves, subtle licorice. Somewhat astringent/tannic, not as balanced as I’d expect. *used coravin on bottle about 2 weeks prior before opening, may have influenced* — 13 days ago

Ridge Vineyards

Three Valleys Sonoma County Zinfandel Blend 2019

Ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.

Fruit forward on the nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing sweet cherries, raspberries, blueberries, black currants, plums, chocolates, light oak, earth, cola, herbs, spices, light vanilla, licorice, peppercorn and tobacco leaf.

Nice tangy finish with soft tannins.

This 6-year-old Zinfandel blend from Sonoma County is drinking at its peak. Spicy and fruit forward. Elegant and juicy.

Great right out of the bottle, but even better after a few hours of air, when the complexity really comes to life.

The alcohol is very nicely integrated by now. Easy drinking and nicely balanced. A great sipping wine.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Château Fleur Cardinale

Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Last tasted 11.21.21 (9.3), Body has thinned out from medium heavy/heavy body to medium body along with one of the best BDX noses I've ever scented still performing as such. The 11.21.21 notes still holding up. Sprinkle a little corn meal into that nose and we are golden. Wine is currently in a state of transition but still so giving. Ridiculous value BDX. Need to pick up another 4-5 bottles. This is going to be a fascinating journey. 02.17.25. — a month ago

La Cuadrilla Ballard Canyon Red Blend 2022

Stolpman never fails! Downed this vintage with a meatball sub. Not overly grippy, the Sangiovese and Grenache do this wine wonders. Earthy berries, spice, and tar. Just delightful. — 18 days ago
