Will continue to age nicely in the next few years, but already drinking beautifully now. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

This young Bordeaux from Saint Émilion is already showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Tasty and interesting. Tangy and rich. Needs a couple of hours to open up properly.
Still young, but starting to drink nicely now. I am surprised of how approachable it is already. Still a little unbalanced, and needs another few years in the bottle to mature properly. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
This 2018 vintage is showing a lot of potential. A little lighter than the 2016 I had a couple of weeks ago.
A good quality wine that will age nicely in the next 15 to 20 years.
I paired it with Brie cheese and crackers.
A blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Super smooth and flavorful Chardonnay — 9 months ago
Dark ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and plum. Plus body, plus tannins, plus acid. While strong, balanced, and elegant, it opens up with a soft, round palate. Exemplary Napa red. 68 Cab Sauv, 28 Merlot, 2 Cab Franc, 2 Petit Verdot. — 2 years ago
Blend of 68% Cab Sauv, 27% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currant and blueberry fruit with cigar box and cinnamon spice. Lively acidity, elegant fine tannins, well balanced just starting to wake up, long finish ending with slight earthy notes, plenty of depth, will continue to develop. Nice, enjoy now and over next decade. — 4 years ago
Second time trying a wine from Wiston Estate in Sussex, and a wholly different experience to boot. This vintage (2014) rosé comfortably stands shoulder-to-shoulder with any of the pink Champagne I’ve had in recent years, and is the most memorable sparkling rosé I’ve tasted since Krug NV some years ago.
The wine’s aromas are dominated by the Pinot Noir that comprises 68% of the cuvée, with dried cherry, rose petal and cranberry, as well as a touch of earthiness. The palate is generous, savoury but with beautifully ripe fruit, medium bodied with mouthwatering acidity and a long, sumptuous finish.
This really is impressive stuff and I encourage anyone new to English sparkling to seek out this splendid wine. — 5 years ago

This is a nice Oaky Chardonnay from Sonoma County. Rich and fierce, yet elegant. Tangy, spicy and interesting.
Needs 30 minutes to open up properly and relax. Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. Spicy with nice complexity. The high alcohol is not noticeable, so you better watch out.

It is Friday night and during this time of being shut in our home a group of us had a Zoom chat to try and help in keep some assemblance of normalcy with socialization through Zoom chat. During our gathering I opened the 2016 Pirouette Long Shadows Vintners Bordeaux Blend. A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. A wine from Walla Walla, Washington produced by renowned winemaker Philippe Melka. A beautifully blended wine that will stand the test of time and only get better.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, red currant, vanilla, baking spice, cigar box and rich soil.
On the palate ther is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, red currant, green bell pepper, creamy chocolate, graphite and crushed rock.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + smooth rounded tannins that lead into a long black fruit finish. What a wonderful wine that all would enjoy. I just wish on our video chat I would have been able to share this with my friends. Maybe some day when we come through this. Please everyone stay healthy and safe. We will come through this.
