Ridge Zinfandel blends always age well. This was no different. Tasted this blind and no one called Zinfandel. That’s how different they become with this kind of age. That Zinfandel jamminess fades and complexity rises.

Procured via auction. Have had bad bottles before but cork looked solid (used Durand to take no chances).
This bottle was excellent and the wine developed nicely in the glass over about 1.5 hours. Kept in my ETO.
Nice black and dark fruits with a little muscle. Oak integrated and not overpowering.
Lovely pairing with steak. — 11 days ago

So delicious and balanced. Deep cherry and red berry fruit on the nose, with warm gravel and a hint of sweet vanilla. Deep flavors in a lively frame in the mouth. Nice acids and a slightly chalky feel from those Carignane country-boy tannins. — 14 days ago
