Cuvée Aux Petites Noix Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

The 2016 “Cuvèe Aux Petites Noix” pours a very pretty ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe red fruits: raspberries, strawberries, cherry, and some warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A lovely wine showing well in its early drinking window. To my palate, better after 2031 and through 2041. — a month ago

Solid beauj. Lightweight with super soft (if any) tannins. Nose has an overriding vegetal characteristic. Mildest cherry finish. — 3 months ago

Domaine de la Madriere Vieilles Vignes Fleurie Gamay 2021

Snappy #fleurie - restrained red fruit, cranberry aromas. Tart crunchy cranberry, cherry, touch of spice and light tannins on the finish. Maybe not the most complex #crubeaujolais but satisfying nonetheless. — 4 months ago

Dr Pepper. Thinner than the last Beaujolais I had today but still mighty tasty. — 2 months ago

Les Faconnières Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of lunch. The 2010 “Les Falconnières” pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and slightly desiccated red fruits: strawberries, raspberries, red flowers, mushrooms, forest floor, warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is in a really lovely spot. drink now through 2035. — 2 months ago

Benedicte & Stephane Tissot Chateau-Chalon Vin Jaune Savagnin 2016

An incredibly powerful, oxidative wine from Jura. The intensely nutty, salty, oily, honied flavors were magical with the “Pastured chicken, preserved lemon, garlic confit” dish which tasted braised and white-saucey.
This would also be perfect with stinky cheese!
