A tasting of six aged white Rhônes, including 20 and 35-year-old Hermitages vs Chapoutier Saint-Joseph Blancs from Les Granits and a 19-year-old Esprit from Tablas Creek, Beaucastel's sister winery in Paso Robles, as well as one of the first great Viogniers to come out of California, the 2009 Calera Mount Harlan. The Tablas Creek held up well against these heavyweights, coming in second place. — 4 months ago
A well balanced GSM. Paired well with pasta in a pesto sauce. June 2024. — 13 days ago
Drinking well right now. Soft tannins. Dark red fruit and plum notes with a long and smooth finish. — 4 months ago
Pale, complex rose with aromas of flowers, strawberry and raspberry preserves, watermelon, and peach gummy backed by white chocolate with the cocoa butter continuing onto the palate. Also a bit of herbal funk. Drinking wonderfully right now. — 7 days ago

I don’t drink much rosé, but when I do, I like the darker/bigger profile, and this achieves that at a really nice price. When compared to the first bottle two years ago, the change is minimal (if at all). This style allows for a bit of age to carry it easily. Deep red-pink in the glass. Aromatics of juicy watermelon and red-gummy fruit (raspberries) upfront as well as some red floral notes. On the palate, it has spiced strawberries, black cherries, and a little blood orange citrus at the finish. If I had more, I’d enjoy over the next year or two. — 7 days ago
