Quilceda Creek

Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

1/2 hour decant(decent fine/cloudy sediment). A remarkable dark purplish magenta. On the nose: blackberry liquor, floral, smokey, baking spice, herbaceous. Taste: plush, round wine with dark fruit, graphite, iron, black pepper, cedar and a dark cherry/vanilla bean medium plus finish. YUM! — 21 hours ago

@Tom Garland I have a bottle of this. Do you think more cellaring would be beneficial or best to pull the cork now?

@Bob McDonald It's in a great place and will probably stay that way for another 3 to 8 years...nice structure and balance. Cheers!

Cayuse Vineyards

Armada Vineyard Syrah 2013

Ten years on, starting to settle down. Still some bacon notes that work with burgers, but no new magic. — 9 days ago

Cayuse Vineyards

Bionic Frog Walla Walla Valley Syrah

A garnet-purple color and expressive nose with that initial Cayuse funk and notes of red berries. smoked meat, herbs, bark and dusty like minerals. Taste: beautiful silky and soft feel. Red berry fruit stands out with gamey meat, iron & bitter chocolate notes and a metallic medium, plus finish. Was looking forward to opening this 2016 again and it did not disappoint! — 23 days ago

Penner-Ash

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021

2021 vintage. Well-made. Slightly plushy but verry pricey for just Willamette Valley juice. Would spend the extra ca$hi$h for single vineyard offerings from this producer this vintage. 5.1.24. — 19 days ago

Chateau Ste. Michelle

Columbia Valley Riesling 2022

This wine has barely any color at all, just a very faint yellow-green tint. The nose is nice. There is a slight trace of petrol, which I always love to find in a Riesling. More dominant is a lanolin note which joins a light floral aroma. The palate straddles the fence between dry and sweet, offering up some tasty stone fruit and a savory side marked by gentle spices and a workable acidity. I would like a drier wine better, but I drank this quaff gladly and poured another. — a month ago
