The 2021 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Misco is wonderfully perfumed and lifted, presenting an herbal-tinged bouquet of wet stones, chlorophyll and green apples. This sleek and racy effort sends waves of mineral-tinged orchard fruits and hints of sour citrus across the palate, all guided by brisk acidity. Really interesting white blend made by devout Cistercian sisters at Monastero Trappiste. Its a deep golden color, showing the 1 week of skin contact. Almost an orange wine. Herby and floral, smells like an aged autumn garden. Chamomile, almonds, and citrus notes. Unsurprisingly savory but still refreshing. (Btw- Love the label.) — a year ago
