The closest thing to true Bordeaux style red blend from Napa. This wine really accentuates the vintage and the terroir, along with fruit and soil. The Dominus Estate manages the vineyard via dry farming, relying on nature for water, making a profound difference on great vintages such as 2016. The 1995 Krug showed a touch more oxidative and had more concentrated fruit than the ‘96 Pierre Peters that we enjoyed alongside. There’s a lovely mélange of strawberry, white peach, citrus, nuts and marshmallow. Similarly to the PP, there’s fabulous acid and a long life ahead. — a month ago

375ml. Rich, ripe, plummy and berry ooze fruit still present and accounted for, a little spirity note, and some nice subtle old wood furniture notes. So rich and enveloping on entry, it’s full and quite resolved. Very lengthy. Love this. — 2 months ago
